The FSCJ softball team hosted the Santa Fe Saints in double header action.
Saints started off the action scoring the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. But the BlueWave bats we ready and waiting in the bottom of the first. FSCJ collected all four of their runs in the first inning with the help of a single by Amelia Olive and Payton Mahon. THe first inning would be the only inning that the BlueWave would cross the plate and the rest of the game was a defensive mission to retain the lead.
Santa Fe would try and rally in the top of the sixth but were only able to notch one more run on the scoreboard before FSCJ would claim the conference win 4-2.
Caitlyn Berry was the winning pitcher for Florida State College at Jacksonville surrendering only two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. BlueWave's Mahon, Berry, Olive and Breanna Swanson each collected one hit to lead FSCJ.
